PENOBSCOT SNOWMOBILE CLUB

HERMON

April 2005

Wow, what a difference a month makes! It has been one funny winter hasn’t it? As many of you would probably agree, some of the best riding this year occurred during the month of March.  However, since the snow is long gone and we are in Maine’s fifth season, Mud Season, there is still work to be done. All of the signs and stakes need to be removed from all of our awesome landowner’s property.

It was a great season at PSC, the club has a new look thanks to a lot of hard work from a few people. A new bridge was installed on trail #7 and the blazer took her maiden voyage, which after a few snags seems to have worked out fine.  Let’s not forget about the club trip which everyone had a good time, and all of the “yellow  ones” ran all weekend this year. On another note, membership remains steady at 125. The ice out sled is on the stream and should be dropping out of site any day now, if it hasn’t already! Watch this space for the announcement of who the lucky winner was.  These were just a few of the events that went on this year.  I think all things considered it was a successful season.

Next year the big project will be the Wheeler stream bridge, which the projected completion date is Nov 05.  Add to that some of our other annual events and it will be another busy summer.

Lastly, April is election month at PSC. If anyone is interested in running for an office or a Board of Directors seat let one of us know. President John Monk will be stepping down this year. Many thanks go out to John for all he is done during his tenure as he will be missed, although I know he will still be heavily involved in club matters and helping the new president, whoever he or she turns out to be.
