PENOBSCOT SNOWMOBILE CLUB

HERMON

October 20, 2003

Hello M.S.A. & P.S.C. Members!

And yet again I get impressed!  The P.S.C. just finished its Landowner and

Membership drives supper.  If you’re not a member of this club, you’re missing the trail.

The members jelled together like slider shoes on glare ice and prepared the best

“Penobscot Fried Turkey” ever tasted – all 11 of them!!  Peas, squash, spuds and stuffing

rounded out the entrée and it was polished off with pies, brownies, and sponge Bob

square pants.  (Who in hell made those?!?)  The only people disappointed were the ones

that missed it.  For those people, there is always next fall.  For the rest of us, WAHOO

it was awesome!  Everyone there had fun!  Nothing makes me happier than a happy,

full bellied landowner.  Many thanks!

Thanks to the previous paragraph, our trail system continues to get better.  Trail

cutting is in full swing and Trail 9 is all rerouted.  It was especially easy this year with the

new pole saw removing the high limbs.  Trail 7 is next on the plate for a small section as

well as general brushing.  A spot on ITS-82 also needs widening.  The more the merrier.

I’d also like to thank the members for the extreme fundraising efforts.  Along with

the pole saw, blade and string attachments, we picked up a second chainsaw, a gas grill, a

turkey cooker, 4 pair of safety road signs, some new lights for the clubhouse, as well as

many kitchen supplies.  We also purchased a wheel kit for our drag so Tom doesn’t have

to groom the Fuller Road.  We are kickin’ some serious butt now!!  Our building fund

also continues to grow and that project seems to be looking closer than farther.  Rumor

has it a covered bridge to boot!!

Members are encouraged to keep their Calendar of Events handy because

December is busy too!  We’ve got signin’ and stakin’ and Santa rolling in.  The adult

Christmas party on the 20th is sure to be surprising as well.

On a final note, many thanks to the lead personnel of the Landowner’s Supper.

While there were others, Chuck Pace and Mark White get the extra credit pins for going

above and beyond!  This was the best ever!!  See you when it snows!
