PENOBSCOT SNOWMOBILE CLUB

HERMON

November 2005

Hello everyone!

Wow…the rain keeps coming and coming!  I do hope that we get to say that about the snow in another month or so.  From everything that I read, this winter is supposed to be good one for us snowmobilers…but already, this year is going pretty well for our Club.  We have a lot happening and still lots to do to be ready for the riding, but no worries…we’ll get-it-done!

We had our Membership Drive Dinner and as I write this, we are currently at 47 memberships and that number rises with each event and meeting.  You can check our website for the latest numbers.  By our next meeting, I am expecting to be over the halfway mark for beating last year’s numbers.  We all enjoyed spaghetti, salad, roll and all the conversation that one could handle.  Thanks everyone for helping and a special thanks to Julie and Chuck Pace!

We also had our first MSA Tickets slot at the MSA Show and thanks to Robin Bernardini, Melanie Monk, and Debbie White…the MSA is 271 deeper in tickets for our 4 hour slot.  Thanks girls!

Opening day of deer season, means the Annual Hunter’s Breakfast and this year will have been better than last, I just know it!

Our Landowner Appreciation Dinner will have taken place on November 5th.  We have seen the numbers grow each year, the word is getting out about the Deep-Fried Turkey Dinner and this year will hopefully produce more numbers.  It is the time we get to wait on hand and foot for the individuals and families that make our trails possible and to personally say “THANK YOU”.  And they do not go away hungry, we put on a feast for them…the very least we can do.  As you are out riding this coming year and see the landowner outside, give a shout and a wave…this goes a long way!

How’s that new bridge coming?  Well, come on down and check it out or visit the website…the PSC crew is kicking butt, slowed up briefly by the rain, but we are gaining.  It is an awesome sight and feeling to be a part of such a project, of course working with power tools, welders, heavy equipment, wheelers to haul the equipment, and the people on the crews just can’t get any better in a time without snow ;-)  John Monk is keeping us informed, busy, fed, and supplied…nice job John.

The Trailmaster, Chris Rose, has been busy with working out the details of some re-routes that we will be doing this year due to all the new developments and growth in Hermon.  It is a challenge, but we are still very positive, welcome all the new landowners (secretly hoping when they move in, they are hauling in their 2-place sled trailer) and are trying to plan our trails to the best location for the longest duration.  Keep it up Chris!

In closing, I would like to say thank you to all the club members, whether active or not, but the active ones are the people I get to see and interact with…you all at the Penobscot Snowmobile Club are the best!!!  Every one of you jumps in and lends a hand and a big THANK YOU needs to go out to each you!  It is people like you that keep us all coming back to join in all the fun down at Clubhouse, on the trails, and other events!

PSC keep up the GREAT work!
